Pride Health is Hiring: Lab Assistant Location: West Hills, CA 91304 Duration: 6-month assignment with potential contract-to-hire opportunity Pay Rate: $19 - $24 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) Schedule: Monday - Friday with rotational weekends.
09:00 pm - 05:30 AM Key Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation of histopathology slides under supervision, adhering to policies and procedures.Receive, label, and prepare tissue specimens for gross dissection.Handle paperwork related to accessioning and reporting.Monitor inventory levels and requisition supplies as needed; maintain laboratory stock and supplies.Clean, sterilize, and organize laboratory equipment and work areas, including refrigerators, freezers, and supply cabinets.Perform coverslipping of stained slides manually and using automated equipment.Complete assigned clerical tasks.Ensure compliance with all health, quality, and safety policies; wear personal protective equipment as required.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Required Experience:None required Preferred Experience:One year of previous histopathology, laboratory experience, or training is preferred.
Physical and Mental Requirements:Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 1-10 pounds frequently, and 11-25 pounds occasionally.Capability to stand and work at a bench for extended periods.Frequent walking and standing.Ability to operate laboratory instruments requiring manual dexterity.
Knowledge & Skills:Basic knowledge of non-complex laboratory instruments.Attention to detail with the ability to follow procedures accurately and retain learned information.Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining organization.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with coworkers, supervisors, and clients.Maintain confidentiality of client information.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Laboratory Information Systems.Typing ability: 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
