Senior Research Metallurgist

The Senior Research Metallurgist provides technical expertise in materials and processes, supporting all areas of the company. This role drives new product development, collaborates directly with customers to solve technical challenges, and assumes leadership of R&D in the absence of the R&D Manager.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Development: Lead the formulation of new alloys, advance materials processing techniques, and drive innovation in material applications.

Manufacturing Support: Address and resolve day-to-day material and processing challenges, spearheading innovative solutions to improve efficiency and quality.

Technical Collaboration: Provide expert guidance to Sales and Marketing teams, assisting customers and prospects in selecting optimal products.

Failure Analysis: Conduct detailed investigations for internal and external stakeholders, delivering professional, well-documented reports.

Training & Development: Educate and support field sales personnel, ensuring technical excellence across the team.

Industry Awareness: Maintain a keen understanding of emerging technologies and industry developments, advising leadership on potential impacts.

Cross-functional R&D Support: Assist other departments with new product development initiatives, contributing technical insight and innovation.

Additional Responsibilities

Supervise activities of R&D technicians, ensuring efficient execution of research tasks.

Undertake special projects assigned by the R&D Manager.

Develop and document new testing methodologies to enhance product quality and reliability.
