Join The Doe Fund on our mission to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and recidivism. Our flagship Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) program provides paid transitional work experience, transitional housing, advanced occupational training, and comprehensive supportive services to individuals experiencing homelessness. The Doe Fund is also one of New York City’s largest nonprofit developers of permanent affordable and supportive housing, with more than 1,900 units in operation or pre-development. The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $73 million and a full-time staff of nearly 500, a significant portion of whom are graduates of our programs.

The Doe Fund is in search of a Community Housing Liaison. This is a newly created position and the organization is looking for an individual who has experience with housing placements from shelter and is innovative and compassionate. The successful candidate should also be a team player that can work well with and in collaboration with other departments.

The Community Housing Liaison will report to the Director of Housing Placement Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with the completion of EOSD, CityFHEPS, SOTA, Section 8 and Supportive Housing Applications.

Ensure compliance with DHS and HRA polices and procedures.

Stay abreast of policy and rule changes affecting affordable housing programs and rent stabilizations.

Assist with peer audits and quality assurance checks to ensure timely and accurate completion, submission of HHA applications, NYC Housing Connect Accounts and HRA Surveys.

Assist the Director of Housing Placement Services with the generation of weekly and monthly reports.

Travel across the 3 transitional housing facilities as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

An Associates Degree required, Bachelors preferred

Experience with harm reduction and motivational interviewing techniques

Strong organizational and time management skills

Sensitivity to community issues and needs

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

Strong ethical standards, confidentiality and personal integrity

Computer proficiency (i.e., email, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
