Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Business Development Intern to help expand our pipeline of fed, civ, and SLED contract opportunities. This internship will provide hands-on experience in market research, opportunity identification, pipeline development, and strategic positioning within the government contracting space. The ideal candidate will work closely with company leadership to proactively identify and assess upcoming solicitations that align with IntelliTech’s capabilities and strategic growth areas.
This is an unpaid internship position requiring a commitment of approximately 20–30 hours per week. The role offers valuable exposure and experience in the federal and SLED business development processes for candidates seeking to gain a foothold in the government contracting sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and identify potential federal, defense, and SLED opportunities using government procurement sites, contract vehicles, and teaming portals
Develop and maintain a qualified pipeline of opportunities that fit IntelliTech’s capabilities in software development, data engineering, cloud services, and DevSecOps
Analyze agency buying patterns, contract history, and competitor landscapes to recommend strategic pursuits
Track, organize, and document leads and opportunities in our CRM system
Support leadership in preparing for industry days, vendor outreach, and capability briefings
Assist with partner and teaming research to help position IntelliTech on upcoming bids
Provide regular reports and presentations on pipeline status and recommendations
Preferred Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Public Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
Strong interest in government contracting, public sector markets, or B2G (business-to-government) sales
Excellent research, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly and professionally
Self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Familiarity with federal procurement sites (e.g., SAM.gov, eBuy, GSA eLibrary) and/or SLED procurement systems is a plus
