Overview:

Job Description Summary:

The BH Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist – PHP supports licensed staff in facilitating therapy with children and families to assist with the management of psychiatric and behavioral health concerns. The BH PHP QBHS provides skill building, psychoeducation, support, linkage, and referral interventions that promote resilience, independence, and attention to the stabilization of the youth and family unit.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:

Assists licensed providers in administering culturally appropriate triage, assessment, and other appropriate mental health screenings.

Facilitates crisis interventions, care coordination, and safety planning under direction of licensed clinician.

Manages patient movement, communication with teams, and assists with family transitions, ensuring safety.

Provides face-to-face, phone follow up and support, and short-term case management for youth and families.

Collaborates in implementing treatment plans and coordinating care, including resource mobilization, at direction of licensed clinician.

Provides support to group interventions and will co-lead group with licensed clinicians as needed.

Contributes to collaborative PHP team effort and ensures a warm handoff to long-term behavioral health providers.

Maintains up-to-date professional training and expertise, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and family-centered care approach throughout tasks.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or professional school in relevant field, required.

Licensure Requirement:

QBHS certification to be obtained upon hire.

Certifications:

Upon hire, must complete and pass NCH endorsed Crisis Management Training.

Skills:

Demonstrated skills in providing behavioral health interventions and case management to children and adolescents and their families.

Demonstrated ability to exercise a degree of independence, initiative, judgment, and decision-making to prioritize workload and achieve program objectives.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member to ensure consistent quality of services that support a high level of patient and provider satisfaction.

Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain productive and collaborative team and multi-disciplinary relationships.

Experience:

One year of providing crisis-based mental health services with children and adolescents, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

OCCASIONALLY: Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Cold Temperatures, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Hot Temperatures, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Loud Noises, Reaching above shoulder, Working at Heights, Working Outdoors
