Job Summary:
The University of Colorado School of Medicine, Department of Radiation Oncology is recruiting for a full time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for the Pediatric Radiation Oncology Section. The section is an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team of clinical care providers and researchers who care for pediatric patients with cancer. These patients receive most their care at Colorado Children’s Hospital and receive radiation therapy at the University of Colorado Health.
Key Responsibilities:
Care for pediatric patients requiring radiation therapy for a variety of malignant and occasional benign conditions
New patient consultations in collaboration with the attending physician
Patient and family education about the process of radiation therapy and potential side effects
Assessment of patients’, and their families’, clinical and psychosocial needs
Multi-disciplinary care coordination with colleagues on the oncology, surgery, anesthesiology, and child life specialist teams
Management of side effects related to radiation treatment
Participation in chart rounds and tumor boards
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Physician Assistant (NCCPA) or Nurse Practitioner (AANP/AANC) Certification.
Ability to obtain Colorado practice license.
Ability to obtain prescriptive authority (DEA License).
BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications:
4 years of experience caring for pediatric cancer patients
4 years of experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting
Familiarity with EPIC (electronic medical record)

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$98,000 to $125,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
