About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Accounting Manager who thrives on taking initiative and solving problems with minimal guidance. This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone who is passionate about professional growth, improving accounting processes, and leading a high-performing team.
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you’ll manage day-to-day operational accounting for multiple entities while enhancing systems and supporting AP automation initiatives. You’ll lead and mentor a small team in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid role based in our Downtown Phoenix corporate office, with two in-office days per week.
What You’ll Do
Oversee AP, OPEX, liabilities, and T&E processes in collaboration with HR and Operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment
Manage travel and expense (T&E) policies and payments while identifying cost-saving opportunities
Monitor cash balances, develop payables forecasts, and manage the payment calendar
Own cost and inventory accounting controls; partner with Operations for cycle counts and adjustments
Ensure compliance with sales and use tax, property tax, payroll tax, licenses, and registrations
Manage 401(k) audit processes
Support year-end financial statement audits
Track and report KPIs, using technology to automate workflows and improve visibility
Lead continuous improvement efforts, including AP automation initiatives
RequirementsWhat You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA, CMA, or Master’s in Accounting preferred
3+ years in corporate accounting operations and 3+ years in public accounting (audit or advisory)
2+ years of experience leading and mentoring accounting teams
Strong working knowledge of GAAP
Experience implementing AP automation or P2P tools; capable of mapping workflows and managing change
Experience with SAP ByDesign, NetSuite, or SAP S/4 HANA strongly preferred
Moderate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
Proven success in audit readiness, clean reconciliations, and cost-control initiatives
Calm under pressure with a solutions-oriented mindset and a hands-on leadership style
Experience in SaaS, technology, or multi-entity environments is a plus
