Associate Training & Development
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this role you will be embedded within the manufacturing team to develop, manage, and continuously improve training programs that ensure manufacturing operators are fully trained, compliant, and capable of sustaining high-performance operations.
This position combines performance consulting with adult learning methodologies to assess training needs, develop effective training solutions, and ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements. You will play a pivotal role in reinforcing a culture of learning, safety, and operational excellence on the shop floor.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Partner directly with manufacturing leadership and frontline operators to define training needs and maintain accurate and current training curricula.
Design, develop, and implement training solutions—including on-the-job training (OJT), instructor-led sessions, and eLearning modules—that are aligned with manufacturing operational needs and compliance requirements.
Lead and maintain the integration of training content into Amgen’s Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring all training records are accurate and up-to-date.
Serve as the first point of contact for training, development, and performance improvement inquiries within the manufacturing organization.
Conduct training effectiveness assessments and use data to continuously improve training strategies and curricula.
Facilitate and lead Train-the-Trainer programs to build internal training capability among subject matter experts (SMEs) and supervisors.
Ensure training programs meet applicable compliance standards (e.g., FDA, OSHA) and are audit-ready.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, HR, Compliance, and Global Training teams to align local training with company-wide initiatives and global standards.
Contribute to change management efforts by helping employees transition through process or system updates via effective learning interventions.
Participate in and help sustain global training and performance initiatives within the broader Operations network.
What we expect of you
We are all different, yet we use our unique contributions to serve patients. The professional we seek will have a strong foundation in instructional design and performance improvement—paired with practical experience in manufacturing or regulated environments.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and relevant training experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 4 years of Instructional Design, Human Performance Technology, Life Sciences, or Training experience.
Or
High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Instructional Design, Human Performance Technology, Life Sciences, or Training experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing training within a manufacturing or GMP-regulated environment
Strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM)
Working knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and training compliance processes
Experience using digital learning tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate)
Project management experience; ability to manage timelines and deliverables across multiple initiatives
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in developing SOPs, on-the-job training (OJT) and job aids, and instructional guides
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
Analytical mindset and experience using training metrics to drive improvements

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
