This position is subject to inside environmental changes that may include constant change in temperatures and minimal exposure to cleaning, staining, and testing chemicals.

This position has much interaction with nursing staff and most hospital departments.

Job Description

The Medical Lab Assistant I will function to provide administrative and technical support to phlebotomist, lab technicians, and management staff in the lab.

Physical Capabilities

The work for a Laboratory Assistant may demand continuous standing, walking, frequent stooping, sitting, reaching, bending and kneeling. The Laboratory Assistant may also be required to carry items up to 50 pounds. Near visual and color acuity is required. The hours of duty may be irregular to accommodate departmental requirements.

Skills and Abilities

● Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

● Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
