HR Generalist - Payroll

Our client, a reputable and well-established General Contractor known for excellence in the construction industry, is seeking a skilled HR Generalist to join their team. As an HR Generalist, you'll play a key role in supporting HR and payroll/accounting functions, including maintaining employee records, coordinating benefits, processing payroll, and assisting with recruitment. This team-oriented role is essential to ensuring smooth daily operations and providing top-tier support to employees across the organization.
HR Generalist Responsibilities:
Maintain HRIS for employee data, payroll, benefits, and reporting.
Process payroll in the Payroll Administrator's absence; resolve related inquiries.
Support benefits enrollment, wellness initiatives, and track workers' compensation claims.
Assist with job postings, interview coordination, screenings, and onboarding.
Help deliver training programs and prepare workforce reports and ad hoc data for decision-making.
HR Generalist Qualifications:
At least 1 year of HR experience (construction/industrial experience highly preferred).
Experience with processing payroll (prevailing wage experience is a plus)
Associate's degree or HR certification is a plus
Proficiency in HRIS, Microsoft Office (with strong experience in Excel)
Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
