Responsibilities

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. We are looking to fill a Controls Engineer position.

This position is for an entry level Machinery Controls Systems Engineer. The main function of this candidate will be to provide life-cycle support of fielded Machinery Control Systems (MCS) on the USS ARLEIGH BURKE class of destroyer. This includes shipboard support as well as Land Based Engineering Site (LBES) support.

Lifecycle support of the supervisory machinery control system which includes, but is not limited to:

Troubleshooting complex problems of all variants of fielded systems (microprocessor based control systems) both at LBES and shipboard

Review of technical documentation related to all variants of fielded systems and future fielded systems

Provide test support for all variants of fielded systems at LBES

Provide shipboard SW & HW installation support of all variants of fielded systems at LBES

Provide technical input to the design of future MCS systems

Develop test procedures to exercise requirements of fielded systems and future fielded systems

Provide design support for integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environment

There is the possibility of Hybrid Work but the candidate should be local to the Philadelphia Navy Yard to be able to come in for meetings or as required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering is required; no equivalencies or experience substitutions will be considered and 0-3 years of experience in electrical or computer engineering as it pertains to control systems in an industrial environment

Successful applicants must be US Citizens and either have an active government security (DoD Secret) clearance or the ability to receive approval upon position acceptance

Must have a valid US passport or the ability to obtain one upon position acceptance

Knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures associated with electrical or computer engineering in relation to control systems

Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams

Proficiency in the use of test tools associated with electrical/computer engineering

Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools associated with electrical/computer system troubleshooting

Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting tools

Ability to self motivate and complete tasks efficiently

Ability to communicate effectively within an integrated team environment

This position requires the candidate to travel up to 15% of the time.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications

Proficient in basic computer/laptop use including advanced operations

Basic Technical writing ability

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.

Posted Salary Range

USD $63,600.00 - USD $99,450.00 /Yr.
