We are looking for a friendly and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team and be the welcoming face of our dental practice. In this role, you will handle a variety of front desk responsibilities, including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records. Your excellent communication skills and attention to detail will help ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience from check-in to check-out.
As a Dental Receptionist, you’ll play a key role in supporting both patients and the dental team. You’ll be responsible for coordinating with staff, answering phones, and addressing patient inquiries, all while maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere. Dental Receptionist Duties & Responsibilities:
Welcome and greet patients in the office.
Scheduling or canceling appointments.
Assisting patients with filling out paperwork.
Getting the dental staff’s charts and daily routines ready.
Keeping track of recent treatments and procedures and updating patient data.
Setting up follow-up appointments and sending out reminders and letters.
Getting in touch with dental insurance companies.
Verifying payment methods and collecting money as necessary.
Answering phones, scanning, filing, and faxing are examples of common office chores.
Dental Receptionist Requirements:
GED or high school diploma.
It is helpful to have a certification in office administration, medical administration, or a comparable profession.
Working experience in a dental office is preferred but not required.
Fluent with computers. Fast learner with software (we use Open Dental).
Working understanding of administrative procedures in general.
Telephone etiquette is important.
Outstanding organizational abilities.
Outstanding customer service abilities.
