Electrical Engineer

Manassas, VA

Contract Position

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and test advanced analog and digital circuits, including PCB-based systems for defense applications.

Analyze, build, and modify electronic hardware, including analog signal conditioning and communication interface circuits.

Integrate and troubleshoot electronic hardware, ensuring performance and compliance with design requirements.

Perform trade studies and component evaluations to determine optimal commercial or industry-standard solutions.

Create and maintain detailed design documentation, interface specifications, and schematic diagrams.

Develop cable assemblies and assist in the development of test systems and criteria.

Present technical recommendations to internal stakeholders and Navy customers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field required.

5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.

U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law.

Experience across the full engineering lifecycle: concept, requirements, design, implementation, and testing.

Background in developing electronics for military systems, including the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) or similar platforms.

Proficient in analog and digital circuit design, including use of SPICE simulations, power analysis, and component selection.

Skilled in PCB development, including schematic entry (preferably using OrCAD Capture), architectural diagrams, and coordination with layout teams for optimal signal integrity and fit.

Familiarity with RS-422, RS-485, and LVDS communication interfaces.

Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as high-speed oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators.

Experience with microcontroller or firmware-based development is a plus.

Knowledge of VHDL/Verilog is also a plus.
