Title: CNC Machinist

Type of Role: Contract to Hire (AFTER 6 MONTHS/WILL HAVE BENEFITS WHILE ON CONTRACT)

Location: Palatine, IL

Shifts Open: 1st and 2nd

Types of Machines: Okuma, Mazak

Rate: $27-$35/hr

We have partnered with a large, manufacturer of electrical power equipment on bringing in a new wave of machinists to join their team. They have some upcoming retirements so they want people who are going to stay just as long as those individuals then. These will start of as contract to hire and you will have benefits while on your 6 month contractual period.

Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills, specifically Okuma and Mazak machines, to produce precision components to specification.

Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to determine machining operations, tooling, and setup requirements.

Install, align, and secure tooling, fixtures, and materials according to setup instructions and part programs.

Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and adjustments to ensure parts meet tolerance and quality standards.

Conduct first-piece inspections and in-process checks using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision instruments.

Monitor machine performance during operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency and part quality.

Troubleshoot issues related to tooling, programming, or machine setup.

Maintain accurate production and inspection records per company and customer requirements

What is Needed?

Experience with either Okuma, Mazak, or Haas machinery

3-5 years of experience

Ability to work first OR second shift
