Electrical Drafter

Description of Work:

Immediate full-time position for Electrical Drafters who are proficient with AutoCAD. Candidates will be members of the engineering design/drafting team. Can be based out of Middletown, RI or New London, CT offices.

Responsibilities: Support U.S Navy system designs and development including performance of the following tasks:

• Develop 2D Cabling Diagrams in accordance with Military Specifications.

• Develop Wiring Tables, Elementary Wiring Diagrams, Lists of Material (LOM).

• Interpret Government Furnished Information (GFI) to meet design requirements.

• Update and maintain electrical drawing packages using AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel • Ensure drawings follow standards and practices.

• Conduct ship checks on SSN 688/688I Class, SEAWOLF Class, VIRGINIA Class and OHIO Class (SSBN/SSGN) Class submarines.

• Conduct research of submarine construction drawings using the Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) System.

Qualifications: • 3 - 5 years professional experience.

• Ability to review engineering drawings and understand required changes.

• Ability to work closely with Navy military and civilian personnel.

• Proficiency with AutoCAD required.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word preferred.

• Technical school or bachelor's degree a plus.

• Knowledge of existing submarine systems, Military Specifications, and previous defense industry is a plus.
