Description
supervise construction related activities as related to industrial construction projects
provide input for the annual building maintenance budget
supervise special projects and capital expenditure projects as requested by warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, and support facilities involving industrial construction
supervise miscellaneous maintenance and repairs of the buildings, parking lots, grounds, docks, roofing, doors, elevators, floors lighting, CSX railroad, water towers (potable and fire), refrigeration and utility systems (electrical, plumbing, gas, utilities, etc.)
select new contractors or vendors
complete other various tasks such as creating a budget, processing and maintaining records, and monitoring key performance indicators

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or its equivalent
minimum of 3 years industrial and commercial construction experience
certificates required for ADA (American Disability Act), Hazwoper (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response). These are required and supplied by Publix. (Incumbent will obtain the ADA and Hazwoper once hired)
knowledge of Industrial Construction including Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Refrigeration, Electrical, and Roofing Systems
knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Office 2000, Windows
knowledge of regional building codes and other regulatory agency requirements
knowledge of Warehousing/Distribution and Manufacturing
ability to be detailed oriented

ability to evaluate costs and estimates
time management skills

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
minimum 10 years industrial and commercial construction experience
Contractor’s License: General Contractors or Building Contractors License
continuing education with the CILB (Construction Industry Licensing Board)
knowledge of Publix vision and mission statement, as well as Publix policies and guidelines

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
