NetImpact Strategies, Inc. seeks Senior Engineer in Falls Church, VA.
Ensure the availability and reliability of critical platform services and applications, ensuring they meet the requirements of internal and external users. Provide monitoring and production support using automation tools to solve problems. Build automated remediation (self-healing) capabilities to eliminate work associated with manual remediation. Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health. Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications. Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions. Measure and optimize system performance, to push our capabilities forward, get ahead of customer needs, and innovate to continually improve. Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications. Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding. Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures. Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning. Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts. Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives. Telecommuting permitted.
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field (or foreign equivalent) and 3 years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, Track Lead, Consultant, Engineer, or related occupation.
Qualifications
This position requires 3 years of experience with the following:
DevSecOps and SRE efforts to grow organizational capabilities using key metrics such as those from Google DevOps Research and Assessment.
Linux Operating System (CentOS, Ubuntu, or SLES).
Virtualization (VMware, KVM, or AHV).
Automation Tools (Ansible, Chef, OpenStack, Playbooks, or Puppet.)
Programming (structured and OO) with one or more high-level languages, such as Java, C/C++, or JavaScript.
Scripting in Python, Ruby, Perl, or Bash.
Telecommuting permitted.
