Our client located in the Downtown, Toronto is expanding their team and looking for passionate System Administrator to join their team. This is a 6 month contract to start, fully on site. Responsibilities:
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
Create and maintain technical documentation
Produce documentation for existing and newly installed systems, practices and configurations
Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
Provide desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience as a System Administrator
3-5 years of experience with Linux operating systems
3-5 years of experience with Windows Server platforms with an emphasis on Active Directory including Group Policy, File Systems and Permissions
3-5 years experience with Microsoft 365
Windows PowerShell scripting skills
3-5 years experience with Azure
3-5 years experience with SharePoint
3-5 years experience with Microsoft Exchange
3-5 years of experience with VMware virtualization technologies, specifically VMware’s ESXi
Advanced hardware & software troubleshooting skills
Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing HelpDesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
Maintaining quality customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and is a team player while also retaining the ability to work well independently
