Pyramid Systems, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated and talented student with a passion for building products that solve business problems to participate in our Summer 2025 Internship Program. Our program will be conducted in a hybrid format, with a blend of in-office and virtual activities. This program offers an excellent opportunity for students seeking professional experience or that have an interest in the fields of Systems Architecture and Engineering, Product Management, Business Process Analysis and Reengineering, Data Analysis, Marketing, Software Development, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) Strategy, and associated IT Consulting processes and technologies.

This is an 8-week paid internship that runs from June 16, 2025, to August 8, 2025, 40 hours per week, and will be located at Pyramid's HQ in Fairfax, VA.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing:

As an intern at Pyramid Systems, you will be working on various business objectives/priorities throughout the Summer. Your work will be managed in an Agile Scrum fashion, providing you with clear prioritization for tasks each week and acceptance criteria to help set you up for success. Your supervisor will work with you to assign priorities, and work plans to help manage your capacity. Some sample business objectives that you may support include:

Corporate initiatives as a Business Analyst (e.g. prototypes, process improvements)

Potential government or commercial projects with ad hoc needs and planning strategy

Business Development support (e.g. reviewing proposals, editing text, refining graphics)

Project Admin support

Marketing (e.g. Social Media posts, SEO for Pyramid websites, etc.)

Conducting research to support Pyramid’s AI/ML strategy or other strategic initiatives

Your program will be led by our Pyramid Nexus and Analytics teams, which are strategic and instrumental organizations supporting business development, growth, client delivery, and Pyramid’s internal initiatives and strategic needs. You will work collaboratively and be guided and mentored by your supervisor and other Nexus and Analytics organization team members. Specifically, you will:

Attend Scrum meetings and practice Agile methodologies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review, and retrospectives.

Work with Nexus staff on one or more projects

Work with potential or current clients to support ad hoc needs

Present results/output to the team on an established cadence (typically every 2 weeks)

Attend other company meetings to learn about other areas of the business, such as business development, marketing, finance, and project management.

Work as a team to write thought pieces (e.g., blog posts) that capture highlights of the internship program and strategic objectives accomplished

Join and support Pyramid’s “Birds of a Feather” team. This team enables our product development scrum approach success via small and informal gatherings that are designed to build networks and idea exploration.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Management of Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Information Technology, Analytics, or a related field.

Recent college graduates will also be considered.

Interest in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning concepts (e.g. tools and technologies, the strategic value of data, and how to extract and communicate information) is a plus

Ability to work independently and with a team providing guidance and support.

Desire to learn new skills, including self-study if needed, and ability to follow through on tasks to completion.

True enjoyment of technology and the desire to contribute to a team’s output.

Must be a self-starter and able to manage their time effectively to accommodate the work/life balance of virtual work.

Target Pay Range

The below listed pay range for this position is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The final offered salary will be influenced by a host of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
