Job Overview:
The Payroll Clerk I position performs a variety of functions including basic general ledger, payroll processing and recordation for the organization. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Wind Creek Chicago Southland policies, practices, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with quality and timely processing of payroll activities to include time and attendance, quarterly and annual payroll tax reporting, garnishment payments, payroll tax withholding payments, 401K contributions and match, annual form W2s, general ledger reconciliation, and all levels of record maintenance
Processes and balances payroll cycles, including but not limited to entering miscellaneous incomes, deductions and adjustments
Works with departments and team members to maintain information in the payroll and time & attendance systems
Works with management and team members to resolve payroll and time & attendance issues
Prepare month-end reporting and reconciling to general ledger during the financial closing window
Assist with balancing and reporting of payroll sub-ledgers as part of the general ledger financial closing
Prepare periodic payroll reports for the labor department, IRS and other organizations
Review and balance payroll registers, tax liabilities, and incoming work
Develop a working knowledge of all IGB rules, regulations and Internal Controls applicable to your position
Possesses the ability to be self-directed while exercising judgment and discretion in completing assignments
Prepares work in a manner that results in a complete and evident audit trail
Possesses good organizational skills and maintains files in a timely and complete manner and ensures that all documentation is filed appropriately and is accessible as required
Maintains positive internal customer relationships by providing prompt and appropriate responses to inquiries, issues, and concerns when appropriate
Keeps supervisor informed of non-routine issues and refers matters outside assigned scope of authority to appropriate individuals

Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)
High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employment
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
One(1) year of previous payroll experience– required; gaming-related experience – preferred
Degree in Accounting or Related Field - preferred
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook (a skills test will be administered and candidate must achieve at least 70% skills pass rate)- required
Experience with payroll systems- required; Microsoft Dynamics GP experience- preferred
Must be proficient and accurate in operating a 10-Key calculator and in accurately and efficiently typing on a computer keyboard
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and view information displayed on a computer screen
Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area
Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds - required
Must be able to work various hours and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to get along well with all levels of the organization and excel in a team oriented environment
Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
Must have an Illinois Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position Base Pay:
Pay range - $18.45 - $25.00 (The base pay will depend factors such as experience level and skillset.)
