POSITION TITLE: Building Secretary - 10 Month

DEPARTMENT: Romulus High School (Counseling Office Secretary)

REPORTS TO: School Principal

PAY SCHEDULE: Salary to commensurate with experience and Bargaining Agreement

EFFECTIVE: Immediate

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Must possess strong people and communication skills.

Ability to establish rapport with students and parents.

Must have ability to get along and work well with others.

Must be neat in appearance with a pleasant personality.

Excellent with details and skilled in proofreading.

Must have computer skills to input and retrieve information.

Competency in Excel and Word, preferred.

Competency with Google docs, sheets, email and calendar, preferred.

Must be able to maintain comprehensive records and files.

Must have the ability to work under pressure.

Must be able to work with limited supervision.

Must be very punctual and be a good time manager.

Must have excellent attendance.

Must have typing ability at 50 w.p.m. (words per/minute).

Must be able to pass other appropriate secretarial tests.

Must be capable of operating various types of office equipment and machines.

Related experience, in a school office setting, preferred.

Knowledge and experience with Pupil Accounting, preferred.

Knowledge and experience with MCIR, preferred.

Knowledge and experience with automated messaging systems, (i.e., Intouch Parent Contact System), preferred. Responsibilities:

Provide administrative assistance and support for the areas of technology, maintenance and customer service.

Provide direct and/or supplemental support to the Directors, i.e. maintain calendar, schedule. meetings, prepare agendas and materials, etc.

Create, monitor, and verify purchase orders for respective departments.

Seek to continue own professional growth and development through attendance at relevant meetings, workshops, and conferences, and similar activities.

Maintenance of office files.

Responsible for telephone communications.

Help coordinate/schedule required inspections as it relates to maintenance.

Help maintain various inventory lists.

Monitor completion of work orders for respective departments.

Provide support for vendors.

Provide support for third party companies.

Help provide and create procedural documentation.

Minor updates to district website.

Performs other duties as assigned. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting.
