Engineering Intern

Position Description

Serco is seeking Engineering Interns to join our dynamic Defense Systems Intern Program located in Orlando, Florida. The qualified candidates will become part of Serco’s Global Battle and Mission Readiness Division and will have the opportunity to work on revolutionary systems and contribute to real-world solutions.

In this role, you will:

Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

Conduct analyses at all levels of the total system product, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.

Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that consider technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Qualifications

Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full-time in Fall 2025.

Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline.

Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2025.

Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A strong academic record with an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Additional desired experience and skills:

Prior internship or cooperative education experience in an engineering or technical field.
