The Quality Engineer plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Play a key role in APQP, PPAP, and launch activities
• Devise sampling procedures and design and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data
• Perform internal, supplier, and layered process audits
• Perform gauge calibration, gauge repair, and gauge maintenance
• Assist in APQP requirements with customers and suppliers
• Ability to understand engineering drawings, GD&T, and associated engineering standards
• Scrap reporting
• Overall Quality Systems Management
• Work with Engineering in solving production problems
• Works with operations personnel to ensure proper part inspection and final part quality
• Responsible for updating and maintaining Corrective Action Log
• Responsible for implementation and oversight of ECP and similar activities
• Conduct product inspection to meet timing requirements such as in-process inspections, development studies, annual validation, and PPAP
• Support customer in the event of nonconforming material escaping process
• Continuous improvement
• Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures
• All other duties as assigned
Education, Training and Experience:
• Pass pre-employment screening
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred
• Minimum 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers
• Ability to run and program CMM (PCDMIS) preferred
• Familiar with automotive quality requirements
• Previous high volume manufacturing experience preferred
