Job Summary

If you're interested in a Laboratory Technician job, then this is the best role for you! This position supports research efforts by assisting in the rearing and maintenance of insect colonies. The role involves working in the laboratory, greenhouse, and occasional field settings to ensure the successful preparation and execution of experiments related to insect research.

Job Description

Maintaining insect colonies (feeding, cleaning cages, preparing diets, etc.)

Performing greenhouse activities as needed

Assisting with laboratory experiments and supporting field trials (e.g., data collection, weed removal, infesting trials)

Adhering to ISO Quality Management Standards

Following safety protocols and wearing required PPE in laboratory and potential field environments Skills Required

Basic knowledge of biological research and insect care

Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment

Good communication and organizational skills

Willingness to work in varied environments (lab, greenhouse, potential fieldwork) Education/Training/Certifications

High School Diploma or GED. Additional Requirements

Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check.

Shift: 08:00 AM

Working Conditions: Indoor environment with controlled temperature; requires both sitting and standing throughout the day

Must be able to lift to 25 lbs. Pay Rate/Salary

Estimated Salary: $16.00 to $24.00 per hour based on qualifications.
