Position: Program Director
Program/Department: Works Plus and Neon Programs
Reports to: Division Director
Work Location: 400 Liberty Ave, Brooklyn, NY
Hours: Full Time - 35 hours per week
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
Position Summary: Works Plus and Neon Programs provide work readiness wrap-around services to young adults aged 16 to 30 who are residents of East New York and are either on probation or at risk of involvement with the criminal justice system. Works Plus and Neon provide an array of services designed to help participants reach a higher level of work readiness/employability and reduce the likelihood of justice involvement. The programs also offer career awareness services, connection to educational opportunities, assistance with job search competencies, and case management.
The Program Director for Works Plus and Neon is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the program, including staff supervision, budget management, program development, and ensuring compliance with regulations and contractual requirements. This role also involves monitoring program performance, identifying areas for improvement, and liaising with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing and managing the Work Plus and Neon programs
Supervising Staff, including overseeing and managing the Works Plus and Neon teams. This includes assigning tasks, monitoring performance, providing feedback and coaching, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
Facilitate workshops and training for participants
Ensure all applicable regulations and program/contract requirements are met
Hiring and evaluating staff
Ensuring that staff training is completed, providing weekly supervision
Building and maintaining positive relationships with community stakeholders and service providers
Ensuring that services provided are consistent with BCS mission and values
Working collaboratively with staff and community partners to build enrollment and partnerships
Shared facilities oversight.
Assist with the development of funding proposals as needed
Other tasks as may be required.
Qualifications Required:
MSW or BSW, or a similar field of study
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience and supervisory experience
Excellent leadership, management, supervisory, and team-building skills
Entrepreneurial spirit
Proven record of problem-solving
Excellent written and oral communication, including public speaking
Enthusiasm for working with empowering low-income adults, including people with disabilities
Bilingual – English and Spanish preferred
