Reports to: Building Principal
Terms of
Employment: 205 day contract at a salary determined annually by the Board of School Trustees.
SUMMARY: To assist the building principal with the supervision of students and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the control of student behavior as referred by teachers and deans.
Consult with the principal as to the final disposition of major student behavior problems.
Assist Dean-Counselors and social workers when they need help related to counseling, attendance, and student control.
Assist with the Student Council and PTO activities.
Assist with the supervision and evaluation of instruction and personnel.
Assist with the planning for orientation of teachers and students.
Assist with the supervision of extra-curricular activities.
Assign teachers and aides to supervisory duties.
Direct and maintain locker requirements.
Perform other tasks as requested by the principal.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Master's Degree in Education
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, and REGISTRATION
Valid Indiana Teachers' Certificate
Valid Indiana Principal's Certificate or on an accepted program for completion of same.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondences, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply general mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community, and ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication.
