Summary:
Provide instructional leadership to staff, including curriculum planning, review, implementation, and professional development.
Oversee the daily administration of the building, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff.
Foster a safe, positive, and productive educational environment.
Enforce school rules and ensure compliance with Board of Education policies.
Support and guide staff in creating an effective learning atmosphere for all students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging each individual to reach their highest potential.
Plan and oversee all aspects of the elementary school program, ensuring it meets the needs of the students and community.
Develop and implement curriculum and extracurricular programs that align with student interests and community needs.
Provide general supervision of students to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
Cultivate and maintain a positive, productive school culture.
Offer curriculum leadership both within the building and on district-level committees.
Monitor the implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the instructional program.
Collaborate on school and district improvement efforts, accreditation processes, and ensure compliance with State and Federal requirements.
Support and promote the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for both academic and behavioral needs.
Lead school improvement initiatives and facilitate continuous progress within the building.
Analyze data related to school performance on local, state, and national assessments.
Supervise testing and special education screening processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Monitor and maintain student and staff records for the building.
Oversee the planning and supervision of the building's budget, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately.
Manage the purchasing process, including ordering supplies, textbooks, and equipment within the approved budget.
Lead staff recruitment, training, coaching, and evaluation to ensure the success of the instructional program.
Supervise all personnel under your jurisdiction, ensuring effective staff performance.
Counsel and support students, teachers, and parents in addressing academic and behavioral concerns.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of district requirements, applicable laws, and Board of Education policies when performing duties.
Act as a liaison between the district and the community, promoting positive relationships.
Attend professional development opportunities to enhance leadership skills and stay current in educational practices.
Create and manage the building schedule for staff and students.
Communicate effectively with parents and staff to ensure smooth operations within the building.
Maintain an up-to-date building calendar to organize school events and activities.
Monitor the safety and maintenance of the school facility to ensure a secure environment.
Assist the building or district athletic director with co-curricular programs and events.
Collaborate with District Office personnel to coordinate processes for the effective functioning of the school. Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

Willingness to collaborate with district staff and fellow building principals.
Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and utilize relevant data and information.
Knowledge of current best practices in education and the bility to integrate current research and theoretical knowledge into practice within the field.
Understanding of child development, growth, and PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports).
Familiarity with the continuous school improvement process.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and address challenges effectively.
Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and demands.
Proven experience in providing educational leadership and contributing to educational planning.
Proficient in computer technology and software applications.
In-depth knowledge of the developmental stages and needs of elementary school students. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Master's Degree preferred.
Five (5) years of elementary teaching and/or administrative experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with elementary endorsement preferred.
Must meet State of Michigan requirements for administrative certification.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages employees and students in the elementary school. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the school and personnel.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, recommendations for hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
