Description

Jason J. Kim Dental Aesthetics, a proud member of Denbright Dental Labs, is a full-service dental lab creating beautiful restorations for dentists across the globe, and we are looking for a Model/Plaster Technician to join our team. If you have experience working in the model/plaster room of a dental laboratory, we want to hear from you! We are looking for a skilled technician to create and pour impressions, mount, articulate, and trim models, and ensure orders are constructed for preparation of final restorations per doctor instructions.

Requirements

Essential Functions

Pour, trim, section and articulate stone models from a patient's impressions

Read prescription included with case; assist in construction of prostheses by following doctors' written instructions

Utilize and conserve supplies and equipment by completing plaster casting, metal casting, die trimming, metal polishing, wax modeling, wire bending, sandblasting, electroplating, electro-spot welding and CAD/CAM techniques

Safely use different kinds of hand tools and equipment (electric drills, presses, lathes, high-heat furnaces, sandblasters, paint brushes, grinders, carvers, etc.)

Prepare equipment and materials (fill mixing bins, empty equipment receptacles, etc.).

Work closely with quality control specialists to address all issues regarding quality standards

Communicate with colleagues and managers in a prompt articulate manner

Rely on technical knowledge to make decisions and accomplish departmental goals

Recognize and report problem cases or cases that need additional prep work

Follow daily schedule, production goals, and protocols

Required:

Previous experience in a model/plaster role at a dental practice or laboratory

Hand-eye coordination Skills & Competencies

Required:

Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve problems in a timely and positive manner

Strong technology skills and the ability to leverage technology in work processes

Knowledge of principles, procedures and best practices in the industry Physical Requirements

Sitting and standing - Particularly for sustained periods of time

Bending - Particularly for sustained periods of time

Lift/Push/Carry - Must be able to lift, push, and carry up to 15 lbs.

Vision - The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned

Able to use hand tools with repetitive vibration and manual dexterity

Repetitive motion - Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, pinch, grasp Work Conditions

Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment for tasks requiring them, including eye wear, face mask, and/or respirator

The worker may be subject to vibration, exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body Work Eligibility

Must be at least eighteen years of age

$20+ per hour, depending on experience
