Job Summary
W e are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil / Structural Engineer with extensive experience in an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment. This role requires strong technical proficiency in civil and structural engineering, particularly in the hydrological and hydraulic design of industrial facilities. You will be responsible for overseeing civil and structural design from conceptual engineering through construction support, ensuring alignment with project scope, budget, and schedule.
Job Description
Perform and review civil and structural engineering designs, including concrete and steel structures, piles, anchorage, and foundations.
Provide support across all project phases including proposal, design, geotechnical investigation, bidding, and construction.
Coordinate and collaborate with in-house teams, third-party contractors, and external engineering partners.
Develop scopes of work, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
Conduct site-specific assessments and implement tailored civil/structural design methodologies.
Lead technical reviews, validate inputs, and ensure quality and completeness of construction deliverables.
Resolve design and construction issues, respond to RFIs and TQs, and review vendor/shop drawings.
Travel up to 25%, including potential international travel, to project sites and engineering offices.
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, etc.).
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff. Skills Required
Hydrological design of stormwater and effluent systems
Temporary and permanent detention/retention systems
Structural design of concrete and steel systems
Greenfield and brownfield development routing
Civil 3D, StormCAD, HEC-RAS
Structural software: STAAD, Mat3D
AutoCAD, SmartPlant Review, Navisworks
Comfortable with digital collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace)
Strong communication, organizational, and independent decision-making skills Education/Training/Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (minimum)
Current Texas PE License; ability to obtain additional state licenses as needed
10-25 years in civil/structural engineering within an EPC setting Additional Requirements
Primarily office-based with regular site visits
Site environments may require climbing stair towers or platforms (up to 30')
Travel includes driving to local job sites and occasional air travel to remote locations
Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) Pay Rate
$55 per hour
