BAE Systems is an international engineering firm operating in different industries from sustainable mass transit, to cyber security, to the design and manufacture of many different types of defense products. Given our continued growth, we have immediate roles available for a highly motivated Principal Hardware Lead to join our Transition to Production, Production Support and Sustainment team as a Lead supporting one of our AC&S Product Lines. In this role, you will have a chance to grow your skills supporting the continued production and sustainment of various complex microwave modules, submodules, circuit card assemblies, and subsystems utilized across multiple projects. You will have the opportunity to work closely with cutting-edge hardware fielded on the most advanced Military Platforms.
Activities day to day will vary and may include:
Supporting product yield and affordability improvements
Supporting production issues in assembly, test/debug, quality and managing overall workload of the HW team supporting production
Delegating tasking to less experienced engineers and technicians
Technical management of subcontractors
Working with hardware suppliers

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years’ experience working on RF/Microwave and digital products preferably in the defense industry
Experience testing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems
Proven ability to perform triage
Excellent problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability
Experience supporting a production environment
Motivated self-starter with leadership skills and ability to effectively work in a team environment
Ability to close on discrete tasking in a timely manner and lead others to closure - Own the Design
Strong technical written and verbal communication skills
Active Secret clearance is highly preferred
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Experience in RF/Microwave subsystem, module and circuit design and development
Experience gathering and analyzing test data to assess trends and develop yield improvement plans
