OPPORTUNITY
AlpHa Measurement Solutions is experiencing aggressive growth through New Product Introductions and recognizes a need to strengthen development capabilities to meet increased demand and support continued growth. We have an immediate need for a talented individual as a Product Engineering intern to join our Houston based team. Product Engineering Interns are high visibility roles with the opportunity to engage directly with cross functional departments the senior leadership team of AlpHa Measurement Solutions.
Our privately held company has over 100 years of liquid sensing experience, is growing, and currently employs 230 team members in Houston Texas and 115 in Shanghai China. Our global headquarters is conveniently located in Houston at the southwest intersection of I-69 and Sam Houston Tollway, just north of Sugar Land.
POSITION SUMMARY
AlpHa Measurement Solutions is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Product Engineering Intern to join our team, providing support to both our New Product Development (NPD) and Sustaining Engineering functions. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the product lifecycle, from the initial concept and design phase to post-launch support and continuous improvement.
As a Product Engineering Intern, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality, to contribute to the development and enhancement of innovative products. You will assist in various stages of product development, analyze design issues, implement best practices for test and validation, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to the development of a robust Quality Management System (QMS).
Essential Functions
Assist in the design, prototyping, and testing of new products or product enhancements.
Conduct product testing and analysis to verify performance against specifications.
Support the development of prototypes and evaluate their functionality.
Participate in design reviews and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
3D printed parts for prototype product development or production assembly aids
Support Quality Management System (QMS), contributing to internal audits scheduled throughout the summer months

Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
Strong academic background with a solid understanding of engineering principles and product development processes.
Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and/or simulation tools is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with prototyping and testing in a laboratory or engineering environment is a plus
Familiarity with ERP or PLM systems and basic knowledge of manufacturing processes is a plus.
