We’re looking for a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Service Advisor to join our team at a locally owned auto repair shop. As the first point of contact for our customers, you’ll play a key role in building trust, explaining repairs, and helping keep the shop running smoothly. Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly and listen to their vehicle concerns.
Communicate recommended services clearly and professionally.
Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and follow up on service progress.
Ensure customers understand the work performed, associated costs, and warranty info.
Service Coordination:
Create accurate repair orders and ensure technician instructions are clear.
Monitor job progress and update customers on timelines or delays.
Prioritize jobs based on urgency, parts availability, and technician skills.
Sales & Support:
Provide service estimates and gain customer approval before work begins.
Recommend maintenance based on manufacturer schedules and vehicle history.
Coordinate parts orders with vendors when necessary.
Administrative:
Input and manage data in the shop’s software system.
Process payments and maintain accurate customer records.
Assist with customer follow-ups and occasional marketing efforts (e.g., reviews, service reminders).
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in customer service; automotive knowledge preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable using computers and shop management systems.
Basic understanding of automotive terminology.
Preferred Skills:
Prior experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar role.
Familiarity with shop software like Mitchell1, Shop Boss, Tekemetric, or something similar.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and time management.
