Role Overview

You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing backend systems in a fast-paced, agile environment. This is a hands-on development role with real ownership, backed by a collaborative team and leadership that values your input.

What You'll Do

Build and maintain robust, scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot

Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices

Own features from architecture to deployment in CI/CD environments

Troubleshoot production issues and ensure high availability

Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews

Collaborate with product owners, frontend engineers, and QA teams

Must-Have Skills

5–7 years of experience in Java backend development

Expertise in Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture

Strong foundation in OOP, design patterns, and multi-threading

Experience with SQL and working with relational databases

Familiarity with Docker, Git, and modern CI/CD pipelines

Solid understanding of cloud environments (preferably AWS, GCP, or Azure)

Nice to Have

Experience with Kafka, Redis, or NoSQL databases

Hands-on with Kubernetes or container orchestration tools

Basic knowledge of frontend frameworks like React or Angular

Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK

Eligibility

Must be legally authorized to work in Canada or the USA

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Comfortable working in remote and agile teams
