Overview
The Business Systems Analyst specializes in understanding the needs of the business owners and translating them into technical specifications. This position will act as a liaison between the business owners and technology departments, as well as implementing and supporting the enterprise applications within several core functional areas of the business: resort systems (gaming and hospitality), and administrative systems (human resources and finance). The position also requires the ability to collaborate with technology teams and a working knowledge of an information technology environment including infrastructure, cybersecurity, networks, databases and help desk systems and applications.
The position involves conducting analysis and leading the presentation of information to business owners, including marketing, finance, slot operations, and human resources. It requires proficiency with developing requirements documents, knowledge of the business and effective communication skills. The position will also be responsible for the QA of any new enhancements or changes to the applications before release and deployment into the production environment.
These initiatives will be done in accordance with department policies, procedures, and standards to support information systems development and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Business Analysis and Problem-Solving Skills
Lead the facilitation and collaboration with business teams and stakeholders to identify challenges in the current business processes and gather to-be recommendations for improvement
Proactively gather requirements from multiple sources using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis.
Demonstrate the ability to lead the development, documentation and translation of complex enterprise-wide business requirements into visual process maps, use cases, and/or technical specifications
Leverage advanced analytical skills to interpret customer business needs, decompose high-level information into underlying details and translate them into operational requirements
Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans and assist in defining success metrics
Project Execution
Successfully engage in a dynamic work environment and lead multiple initiatives simultaneously with the flexibility to adjust to fast-paced and evolving priorities
Demonstrate teamwork and drive successful results in small or complex applications rollout to single or multi-properties
Lead the quality assurance (QA) efforts of initiatives to automate systems, implement modern technology or deploy enhancements to applications through testing, debugging and user acceptance
Communications
Proactively communicate and collaborate with technology teams and business owners to analyze information needs and functional requirements to deliver an effective solution
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
Serve as the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams
Develop documentation for users to install, operate and support applications, and conduct training, as required Tools and Support
Provide post implementation support and troubleshooting
Employ project productivity and collaboration aids in all aspects of assignments
Analyze problems and escalate issues in a timely manner for quick resolution
Maintain willingness to learn innovative technologies and enhance technical skills through formal and on-the-job training
Assist in the facilitation and documentation of lessons learned at key phases of projects
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Skills, Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields preferred or equivalent experience
Casino gaming, hospitality or travel industry background or experience preferred
At least ten (10) years of related experience as a business systems analyst or similar position
Strong project execution/leadership practices and techniques
Highly personable and able to communicate clearly and build strong relationships across business groups and with IT personnel
Strong ability to translate business requirements to use cases and technical requirements to enable IT teams
Experience in Stakeholder management, including with department leaders, property IT leads, vendors, and consultants
Strong technical background and working knowledge of information technology infrastructure, networks, IT security, databases, and computer software applications.
Experience in utilizing productivity tools for requirements development, knowledge management, communications, and reporting. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, Outlook, Forms), business process management and requirements tools (Visio, Lucidchart, PowerPoint, etc.) and document storage tools (OneDrive, SharePoint, Confluence, Asana, etc.)
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with a diverse range of people, which includes the upper levels of corporate management
Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus
Motivated and self-sufficient, requiring limited supervision over job knowledge, expectations, and successful project completion
