Vimly Benefit Solutions is seeking an experienced X12 EDI engineer to support and modernize our home grown X12 EDI 834 processing platform. As a critical link between employers and carriers, our EDI systems enable benefit enrollment for over 17,000 employers nationwide.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on learning and navigating existing platforms, enjoys solving complex data and integration challenges, and is excited to help transition mission-critical systems to a modern, scalable architecture.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze and understand our existing Magic XPA-based backend system, including its workflows, dependencies, and business logic.

• Enhance system observability and monitoring to improve operational resilience.

• Evolve and extend the custom XPA based X12 834 EDI platform to meet growing business needs.

• Design and develop event-driven services and integrations with internal and external systems.

• Diagnose and resolve production issues with a focus on root cause analysis and sustainable solutions.

• Collaborate with engineering, QA, and product teams to ensure high-quality delivery.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with X12 834 EDI processing and related benefit enrollment workflows.

• Strong backend development experience with Magic XPA (or ability to learn it quickly).

• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server; familiarity with PostgreSQL or MySQL is a plus.

• Ability to reverse-engineer complex legacy systems and document their behavior clearly.

• Experience modernizing legacy systems is a big plus (e.g., replatforming or migrating to serverless).

• Solid debugging and production support skill

What We Offer

Base salary: $110k-$150k. Eligible for quarterly bonus earnings, up to 10% of annual salary. Actual compensation offered may vary depending upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
