Accounting Assistant

Preference Employment Solutions is looking for a proactive Accounting Assistant to support efficient office operations, ensure accuracy in financial transactions, and contribute positive energy to a fast-paced work environment.

Type: Direct Hire, Full Time

Compensation: $25-$30/hr. DOE

Schedule: 7: 30am- 4: 30pm (Monday-Thursday) 7: 30am 3pm Friday,

Position Overview:

Bi-weekly payroll including processing of child support and garnishments.

Accounts payable duties include coding, verifying sales and use tax, and month-end reconciliation.

Maintaining insurance data base for subcontractors and assisting with Purchase Orders.

Assist Controller with writing checks, preparing deposits, job cost allocation, and other financial and clerical duties.

Assist Project Mangers with the setup of such items as hotel accommodations, waste removal, fuel setup, etc. On projects.

Shared duties with receptionist to answer phones, greet customers and prepare correspondence during lunch breaks and when receptionist is gone from the office.

Characteristics of a Successful Candidate:

Minimum three years of Accounting experience, including payroll and job costing.

Prior experience in the construction industry preferred.

Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Excel and Word.

Excellent communication with ability to interact cohesively with all aspects of the company.

Ability to solve problems in a professional and tactful manner A positive attitude, good work ethic and professional appearance.
