2nd shift: Monday - Thursday 12:00pm - 10:00pm (OT on Friday afternoons as needed)

Pay: $17.00/hr. (plus $1.25/hr. shift premium)

Job Summary for Shipping Associate:

The Shipping Associate processes orders through the shipping system to ensure timely and accurate shipment of customer orders.

Primary Responsibilities for Shipping Associate:

Understands shipping methods and departmental procedures, prioritizes work effectively

Processes orders through the ProShip shipping system, ensuring proper shipping method is used. Generates shipping labels and packing lists. Runs end of day manifests for accounting and transmits data electronically to UPS and FedEx

Promptly and accurately processes orders to meet customer ship dates and BIC Graphic quality standards. Verifies package counts and quantities, calculates total quantity shipped for accurate packing list generation and billing

Accurately reads and follows shipping instructions printed on the manufacturing orders and thoroughly checks out any discrepancies found by reading the comments in MacPac or by bringing them to the attention of the Traffic Specialist or the Warehouse/Inventory Manager for clarification

Processes all international shipments including the commercial invoice or any other documents as necessary

Properly stages product for processing the segregates the “do not ship early” orders from the “cred hold” orders, and from the “ready to go” orders

Monitors the “ship with” orders and investigates orders in jeopardy of shipping late

Identifies expedited orders produced early and gives to the Traffic Specialist, who partners with Sales Service on whether we should ship early and change the method of shipping to reduce the shipping cost and optimize customer satisfaction

Performs duties in a safe manner, using all approved safety equipment as instructed

Maintains a neat and orderly work area

Actively participates in and supports teamwork and continuous process improvement

Demonstrates flexibility and commitment through cross training and helping other departments consistent with business needs

Performs duties safely and in accordance with company safety policies

Serves as back-up to warehouse and production teams when needed

Qualifications for Shipping Associate:

Three months or equivalent experience in inventory control with a strong math, problem solving and organizational skills, and understanding of materials flow is preferred

Computer knowledge required

Must be able to effectively and accurately use the electronic counting scale, 2-wheel hand cart, computer, pallet jacks, and automatic shrink wrapper

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously, occasionally up to 75 lbs., sometimes in difficult work positions, required to perform job with a high level of accuracy, follow standard procedures for completing order shipments
