The Production Assistant supports Decor Direct’s business efforts to deliver a customer experience that is consistent with the Schell brand promise. This position assists the Homewares and Windows production coordinators with the production process. This full-time position is instrumental in ensuring seamless coordination and communication throughout the production process, working closely with the Homewares and Windows production coordinators. Responsible for all activity after the Homeowner signs the proposal.

The main areas of the business include:

• Order Entry & Accuracy

• Order Tracking (Submission through Receiving)

• Warehousing & Inventory Coordination

• Vendor Freight Coordination

• Final Delivery Oversight

• Managing Backorders & Product Reselection

Specifically, these responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Review and analyze product specs before submitting purchase orders

• Enter purchase orders promptly upon receipt of deposits

• Track orders from submission to warehouse

• Monitor timelines to meet project delivery goals and settlement dates

• Coordinate logistics and communicate clearly with warehouse partners

• Facilitate inventory transfers between locations

• Provide real-time updates and proactive communication to clients regarding order status

• Address client inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly

• Support delivery and installation coordination to ensure client satisfaction

• Assist with invoice and payment processing in a timely and accurate manner Requirements:

Required Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in production, logistics, or the retail/design industry

• Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to excellence

• Familiarity with logistics, shipping, and warehousing

• Tech-savvy and comfortable using digital systems and tools

• Exceptional time management and organizational skills

• Detail-oriented with a systems-thinking approach to problem solving

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Strategic, proactive, and collaborative mindset

Preferred (but not required) Skills:

• Background in retail, interior design, or furniture/home décor

• Experience with purchasing, sourcing, supplier/vendor coordination, and logistics

• Knowledge of white glove delivery and client service expectations

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management tools

• Self-starter with strong initiative and adaptability
