We're seeking an Installation Technician to join our Field Service team based in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area! Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please note that this position requires extensive travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Installs custom environmental chambers and their associated components at the customer’s facility.

Reads and interprets assembly, refrigeration and electrical prints/drawings.

Brazes/solders refrigeration piping.

Frequently uses hand, power, and air tools to perform job duties.

Travels to and from job sites, as assigned by the Manager.

Arrives at the pre-determined job site on the date and time provided by the Service Manager.

Requires significant travel to customer sites (approximately 80% travel on average).

Makes travel arrangements using company approved travel provider/system.

Travel includes but is not limited to: Driving company provided service vehicle, airline travel, rental car, and potentially international travel.

Provides daily updates to the manager on the progress of the job.

Coordinates and supervises on-site activities when contractors are used to help on large installations.

Completes expense reports for all expenditures.

Submits Service Reports at the completion of each job; this includes travel hours, labor hours, full details of work performed, if work is completed, and the customer signature.

Receives pre-approved systems changes from Engineering.

Returns parts from the field.

Presents him/herself professionally and acts in a courteous and helpful manner.

Prepares for the next assignment by researching what must be done to complete the job.

Assists production as needed upon request.

Cleans and maintains work area, service van, machines, tools, and equipment.

Completes ongoing safety training.

Operates efficiently and effectively with minimal direct supervision.

Regular physical attendance is required. Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Minimum of two years college or trade school is preferred.

Previous experience in the environmental test chamber industry, preferred.

Previous experience brazing/soldering/welding ferrous and non-ferrous materials, preferred.

Previous experience installing panel boxes preferred.

Previous Customer Service experience preferred.
