This is a remote position.Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft SharePoint Implementation Program Manager to lead the end-to-end migration of our internal intranet system from a custom-built solution to the Microsoft SharePoint platform. This role is critical in ensuring a smooth, efficient, and user-centered transition, aligning with best practices in collaboration, information architecture, and governance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing enterprise technology projects, particularly within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership:
Drive the overall program strategy and execution of the SharePoint intranet migration, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
Project Planning & Roadmap:
Develop a comprehensive project plan that includes detailed timelines, resource allocation, risk management, and communication strategies across all project phases: discovery, planning, design, build, testing, training, and go-live.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with executive leadership, department heads, and end-users to gather requirements, communicate progress, and manage expectations throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Technical Oversight:
Work closely with IT, developers, and SharePoint consultants to define the architecture, permissions, content structure, and workflows needed for the new intranet environment.
Change Management & Training:
Lead the change management strategy including training programs, user support resources, and communication plans to ensure successful adoption across the organization.
Quality Assurance & Testing:
Oversee all testing activities including UAT (User Acceptance Testing), defect resolution, and documentation of test results to ensure system readiness.
Go-Live Support & Stabilization:
Manage the launch and post-deployment support efforts, ensuring performance monitoring, issue resolution, and knowledge transfer to support teams.
RequirementsQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
7+ years of experience in project/program management with a focus on enterprise software implementations.
Proven experience managing SharePoint migrations, preferably from non-SharePoint systems.
Strong understanding of SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365 capabilities, architecture, and governance.
Familiarity with intranet best practices and user experience considerations.
Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
PMP, Agile, or other project management certifications are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with third-party implementation partners or consulting firms.
Knowledge of Power Automate, Power BI, or Microsoft Teams integrations.
Ability to translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
Background in organizational change management or user adoption strategies.
