The Sr Financial Analyst (SFA) is a key contributor in Financial Reporting supporting distribution and logistics activities for the entire company. Responsible for general accounting, controls, account analysis, executive reporting / presentation, process flows, training, technical research, and project work. Close process includes numerous journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis in a compressed period. Reports to Manager. Has opportunity to mentor and lead the Sr. Accountant on the team.
Responsibilities
Deliver financial results and analysis to senior leadership including CFO and Controller
Variance analysis for high-risk accounts supporting executive reporting.
Partner with FP&A and other areas to determine root causes and solutions for variances.
Ensure compliance with existing controls, recommend changes / improvements to control environment, especially around IPE requirements, and contribute to development of controls for new business areas or processes.
Serve as the point of contact for EY and IA audit requests. Ability to delegate responsibilities, review work, and answer questions for audit staff.
Comply with all local requirements for Statutory Reporting and Statutory Audits
Perform multiple monthly account reconciliations and support others on team.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare CAT return, state apportionment, and tax packages schedules; ensure adherence to imposed deadlines.
3- 5 years of general accounting experience required
Effective communication and presentation skills
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills; including the ability to concisely present complex information to drive business decisions.
Ability to build partnerships across functions and work with various levels of management
Ability to think analytically and creatively.
Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
Work in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Advanced PC skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
SAP knowledge a plus
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
Advanced degree or CPA a plus
