Robert Half is looking for an experienced Controller to lead and manage the accounting operations of our client's organization based in the Greater Philadelphia area. This Controller role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and driving improvements in processes to support growth. The ideal Controller candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of multi-entity accounting.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and the month-end close process.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Manage and refine financial reporting systems within Sage Intacct, ensuring accurate multi-entity consolidations and intercompany transactions.
Ensure adherence to compliance standards and internal controls across all organizational entities.
Partner with leadership teams in finance, operations, and production to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.
Coordinate annual audit activities and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Oversee tax compliance and filings in collaboration with external providers, ensuring accuracy across multi-state operations.
The ideal Controller candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. CPA preferred
Other requirements for the Controller position include and are not limited to:
10+ years of progressive accounting experience
2 years in a leadership or managerial role
Strong experience with Sage Intacct
Knowledge of intercompany accounting and financial consolidations
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
