Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Controller up to Controller to join our team in Omaha, Nebraska, and lead our financial operations with precision and integrity. This position is a full-time, permanent position with a Manufacturing/Production company that will work directly with the CFO to oversee and manage the accounting & finance department. Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

• Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and trial balance, investigating and resolving discrepancies effectively.

• Prepare internal financial statements and supporting schedules for leadership and external stakeholders.

• Ensure proper accounting treatment for transactions, including revenue, inventory, capital expenditures, and intercompany activities.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and enhance data integrity across departments.

• Document and improve accounting policies and internal controls to ensure audit readiness and compliance with standards.

• Identify opportunities to optimize reporting processes and reduce the monthly close timeline.

• Utilize accounting systems and software to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation within financial operations.

• Support audits and special projects, implementing scalable accounting solutions for business growth.

• Collaborate on budgeting processes, variance analysis, and financial forecasting to assist in strategic planning.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems, such as Great Plains Dynamics.

• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.

• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement scalable accounting solutions.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to resolve variances effectively.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across departments and with leadership.
