Sr. Software Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Sr. Software Engineer to join our team in Waunakee, Wisconsin. In this Contract-to-Permanent role, you will leverage your expertise in WordPress, Python, and JavaScript to develop, customize, and enhance web solutions. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with clients and stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and customize WordPress plugins, themes, and hooks to deliver tailored solutions for client needs.

• Utilize Python and MySQL to manage data integration, transfer, and retrieval processes.

• Work with JavaScript, including Vanilla JavaScript or jQuery, to enhance and maintain the functionality of existing platforms.

• Lead client meetings to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure project alignment with expectations.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to web development and backend systems.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members when needed.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements for existing systems.

• Perform testing and debugging to ensure high-quality code and system performance.• Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, with a focus on WordPress, Python, and JavaScript.

• Advanced knowledge of WordPress development, including plugin and theme customization, hooks, and filters.

• Proficiency in Python and MySQL for backend development and data management.

• Strong understanding of JavaScript, including Vanilla JavaScript or jQuery.

• Experience in client-facing roles, including leading meetings and gathering technical requirements.

• Familiarity with API development and integration processes.

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools such as Atlassian Jira.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
