Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed inspections of raw materials, in-process, and finished components using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
Utilize Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to measure complex parts and ensure conformance to engineering specifications.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to verify product compliance.
Document inspection results and generate quality reports for internal records and customer requirements.
Identify non-conformances, report findings to the production team, and work to implement corrective actions.
Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and perform routine dimensional checks during the manufacturing process.
Maintain calibration of inspection tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Support continuous improvement efforts by suggesting and implementing process enhancements to improve product quality.
Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve quality issues and ensure that products meet all relevant standards and customer expectations.
Maintain a clean and organized inspection area, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; further technical education or certification (e.g., Quality Control, Mechanical Engineering) is a plus.
3+ years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measurement tools.
Proficient in operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and interpreting CMM data.
In-depth knowledge of quality control standards, inspection procedures, and quality management systems (e.g. ISO9001, AS9100).
Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint reading.
Ability to identify and troubleshoot quality issues, with strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
