Junior Electrical Drafter – Industrial Automation

SUMMARY:

Prepare production documentation for customer specific orders. Assist in the preparation of detailed standard and custom electrical drawing for low and medium voltage products, phase controllers, for both existing and new products. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Electrical, and working knowledge of the applicable electrical codes and other related standards required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but other duties may be assigned.

Assist in the production of electrical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

Assist in maintaining documentation records of projects.

Updating documentation: electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, routing layouts for full submittal drawings and bills of materials.

Work with development and design engineers on specific projects.

Work with production floor on bill of materials and drawings.

Add details to drawings provided by senior staff.

Update close out drawings.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of an associate degree in drafting, or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with AutoCAD Electrical is a must, SolidWorks is a plus.

Working knowledge of relay logic, PLC’s and associated controls

Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software.

Knowledge of current electrical codes, NEC, NFPA, and UL and EU standards, and how they relate to motor control technology is considered a plus.

Strong attention to detail and mathematical abilities

This is not a remote position.
