Position: CAD Technician

Location: Hybrid - Onsite 3x/week in North Reading, MA

Duration: 9 month contract with potential to convert

Pay range: $25-$27/hr

JOB DESCRIPTION

A large robotics client is looking for a CAD Technician to join their team in North Reading MA. This person will be joining the Deployment Engineering Support team, which focuses on the use of robots to automate processes in their warehouses nationwide. This individual will be responsible for creating detailed drawings of buildings, work areas, and material handling equipment based on current examples as well as design support for future initiatives. Drawings will require a high level of detail in both plan views as well as corresponding elevation views in certain cases. A successful candidate will be self-starter and will be able to work with very little direction and create drawing sets that will satisfy the need to standardize work spaces and designs across a large network of fulfillment operations.

Responsibilities include:

* Supporting new technology development for Robotics

* Working on 2D and 3D Robotic Layout Designs

* Working on internal software similar to AutoCAD

* Interacting with solution design engineers -- will work along side them

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* 1+ years of CAD experience in Mechanical or industrial engineering industry

* Experience designing and drafting with AutoCAD

*Exposure to 3D CAD design

* General engineering knowledge, manufacturing environment setup

* Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience)

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Building design experience

* Experience drawing in a warehouse or fulfillment center environment

* Basic knowledge of material handling and storage systems

* Conveyor design and layout experience

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

* Ability to lead small groups
