Robert Half is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to join our client’s dynamic team. Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Pay Rate: $30–$40/hour (DOE)
Assignment Duration: 6+ months, with temp-to-hire potential
Work Schedule: Onsite, 5 days per week (9am-5pm EST)
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison between Judge’s chambers, court personnel, outside counsel, clients, and other parties via phone, mail, and email.
Prepare petitions, schedules, and statements of financial affairs, using tools like Bestcase in advance of bankruptcy filings.
Draft and prepare a wide range of court documents, including notices of appearance, pro hac vice applications, proofs of claim, and other motions or pleadings.
Manage e-filings via CM/ECF and ensure proper service or service coordination for bankruptcy-related matters.
Assist with monthly, interim, and final fee applications in accordance with applicable bankruptcy rules.
Conduct claim reconciliations for objections/distributions and support ordinary course and new value defense analysis for avoidance actions.
Perform PACER research to assist with business and client development efforts.
Coordinate conflict checks for Debtor and Committee work as needed.
•Education: Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certification preferred but not mandatory.
Experience: Minimum of 3+ years as a Bankruptcy Paralegal or related experience in the bankruptcy and restructuring field.
Strong knowledge of state and federal bankruptcy processes, local rules, and procedures.
Proficient in technology platforms (e.g., Bestcase, CM/ECF) and standard office equipment.
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated initiative with the ability to handle a large caseload and maintain professionalism.
Flexibility to accommodate workload demands during busy periods.
Hybrid remote
