Robert Half is looking for a skilled Property Controller to join our client's team in the Greater Philadelphia area. This Property Controller role involves managing the financial operations of assigned properties, including financial reporting, compliance, and collaboration with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting and a deep understanding of real estate financial management.
Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, general ledger reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
Collaborate with property managers, asset managers, and external auditors to ensure seamless financial operations.
Monitor and report on capital expenditures, tenant improvements, and lease accounting activities.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes for commercial real estate assets.
Maintain detailed financial records and documentation to meet internal control and audit standards.
Provide financial reporting, draw requests, and capital planning support to project and development teams.
Prepare and analyze job cost reports, development budgets, and variance explanations as needed.
The ideal Property Controller candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. CPA preferred
Other requirements for the Property Controller position include and are not limited to:
3+ years of relevant accounting experience in commercial real estate or property management
Solid understanding of GAAP (experience applying GAAP preferred)
Proficiency with Excel as well as accounting software or other property management/development accounting software
Experience with CAM reconciliations and lease accounting
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
