The Inventory Control Clerk/Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting operational efficiency across the facility. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring procedures that ensure accurate inventory transactions, effective communication across departments, and high standards of warehouse integrity and performance. They perform cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records, and implement corrective actions. This role also includes analyzing inventory data, collaborating with warehouse and operations teams, and maintaining accurate records of inventory transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Performing cycle counts - regularly counting a subset of inventory items in a specific location, often using methods like ABC analysis, to verify inventory accuracy.
Reconciling discrepancies - investigating and resolving differences between physical inventory and system records, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions
Maintaining inventory records - keeping accurate records of cycle counts, adjustments, and inventory transactions, ensuring data integrity.
Analyzing inventory data - reviewing inventory reports, identifying trends, and analyzing data to pinpoint areas for improvement.
Collaborating with other teams - working with warehouse, operations, and other relevant teams to resolve inventory issues and improve processes.
Implementing corrective actions - developing and implementing solutions to address inventory discrepancies and improve accuracy.
Improving inventory processes - identifying areas for process improvement, such as optimizing inventory storage and flow, and recommending changes to enhance efficiency.
BOM's (Bill of Materials) - Ensure all components of a product are accurately listed and updated, verify availability and specifications and identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
Organize storage racks, improve material movements.
Label parts and subassemblies.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skill Requirements:
Accurate and meticulous in performing cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
Analytical skills-ability to analyze inventory data, identify trends, and recommend solutions.
Problem-solving skills - Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Communication skills - ability to effectively communicate with warehouse, operations, and other teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Computer skills - Proficiency in using inventory management software and data analysis tools. Advanced MS Excel, MS Word, and WMS experiences.
Experience with Syspro or other inventory control software.
Experience with report writing database tools a definite plus.
Knowledge of inventory management principles - understanding of inventory control practices, including cycle counting methods and ABC analysis.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes - knowledge of manufacturing operations and material flow.
Ability to work in a fast-paced d environment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
Ability to lift 75 lbs., on an as needed basis.
Education: High School Diploma
